Presiding at the colourful ceremony at the Campost Conference Hall in Yaounde, the General Manager, Hervé Beril, said the e-post project is a jewel on the company’s neck, stating that it fits in squarely with the modernising process in the company.
Mr Beril said the appointment of Nana Yomba came at a time Campost was faced with the challenge of aligning with new Information and Communication Technologies through the e-post project. “This installation is the final point for the putting in place of the structures of Campost. The e-post project is important as it seeks to interconnect all the 234 post offices in the country,” he noted. A data centre is to be constructed to link the post offices and Campost officials so as to considerably improve the quality of service offered to customers and help the company to embrace electronic commerce.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Nana Yomba had served as Director of Infrastructure and Access Network to New Information and Communication Technologies, Sub-director for Economic Prospection and Mobile Phone Project Coordinator, all in the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. He was also Technical Official for the Camtel-Mobile Cameroon Project and Technical Director for Telecel Gabon Project, among others.
Holder of a diploma in engineering from the Advanced School of Engineering in France in 1986, Mr Beril said Nana Yomba Lucien has all what it takes to surmount the challenges, promising the full collaboration of his superiors. On his part, Lucien promised to put in all the experience gathered over the years so that Campost can go beyond merely receiving and despatching mails. The 55-year-old engineer was appointed on April 10, 2012 during an extra-ordinary board meeting of Campost.
