The National Executive Committee (NEC ) of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) that took place on April 22 was a rare moment for party parliamentarians and shadow cabinet ministers to discus some of the burning issues affecting the life of the party as well as the nation. Chaired by the party leader Ni John Fru Ndi, it emerged from the meeting that the 8th ordinary convention of the SDF will run from October 12 to 14, 2012 in Bamenda. It also came out from the meeting that the different structures of the party will be reorganized in the days ahead. NEC also condemned the Electoral Code promulgated into law by the President of the Republic, Paul Biya on April 19, 2012 and reiterated that it does not reflect the aspirations of Cameroonian.

NEC members called on Cameroonians to support the SDF stand and fight against the law when the time comes. They accused the government of diverting the interest of Cameroonians from the debate on the Electoral Code to the arrest of some former top government officials. NEC members equally condemned the trafficking of babies as well as the storage of arms around residential areas. The meeting also endorse the Ngalla Commission to investigate and seek solutions to problems in the Littoral Region. SDF Parliamentarians expressed the determination to go back to the National Assembly, as well as to increase the number of SDF parliamentarians in the House .
