Switzerland Envisages Cooperation Agreements

The Swiss Ambassador Urs Berner was at the Ministry of External Relations on April 27.


The Ambassador of Switzerland to Cameroon, Urs Berner on Friday, April 27, 2012 declared that his country was planning to sign cooperation agreements with Cameroon in the coming months, though without disclosing the areas of interest.

Ambassador Urs Berner spoke to the press after discussions with the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum in Yaounde.

The two officials also used the occasion to review bilateral relations between Cameroon and Switzerland, as well as international relations. The Ambassador said his visit was also mainly to explain to the Minister the resolution Switzerland and other countries tabled at the United Nations Organisations (UNO) General Assembly session of March 12, 2012. The resolution, he disclosed, aimed at bettering the working conditions of the UN Security Council and the relations between the Security Council and the General Assembly. The discussions in the presence of some of the minister’s close aides lasted for over 30 minutes.
