CNCC Graduates Students in Professional Master2

The graduation ceremony in International Transport took place at hotel Meridian in Bonanjo, Douala on May 3.

The University of Douala in partnership with the University of Paris 1 and the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council, CNCC, have graduated the first Batch of Professional Master students in International Transport. The programme which is in 12months graduated 27 students out of 29 who got in. two of the 29 students did not reach the cutoff point.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director General of CNNC, Auguste Mbappe Penda, said the overall objective of the programme is to increase professionalism in business places and enterprises. Also adding that it is to ensure quality education and improve professional skills in the transport sector in companies. The Director said the programme is in line with the Statement made by the Head of State, which is to increase professionalism in Higher Education in Cameroon. He appreciated the University of Douala for the “efficient assistance” they put into the project.

The Rector of the University of Douala, Bruno Bekolo Ibe said it would have been distance learning but the students did not have to displace themselves because lecturers rather came from Paris 1 university to give lectures, as well as from the University of Douala. And gave a lot of practical work for the students while they are away. He appreciated CNNC for their co-operation in providing a place of study and also liaising the University of Douala and the University of Paris 1.

The programme had workers and students of which workers of enterprises had to pay 1.5million francs and students, 1million francs. They studied all sectors in transportation that is; air, land and sea. They also had training in accountings, economy transportation, rights to transportation, insurance, English, among others.

One of the graduates who spoke to CT, Doumbe Mpacko Seraphin, said he studied company management in the transport sector and he is proud of the skills he has acquired and is now waiting to be employed to proof his efficiency. He said he studied supply domain in transportation, goods and persons, goods by air and sea.

The graduates were encouraged to be proud of their kills acquired and to be good ambassadors of Master 2.
