Douala: EEC, UEBC Churches Celebrate Apostolic Work

The EEC and UEBC’s celebration of 40 years of activities run from May 8 to 13.

The Evangelical Church of Cameroon, EEC, and the Union of Baptist Churches of Cameroon, UEBC, are celebrating 40 years of evangelical and apostolic work in Cameroon, CEVAA.

The celebration started with a church service at the UEBC Dipita, Bali neigbourhood with enlightening prayers by Pastor Lobe Maka Léon Louis of UEBC. The servant of God made allusion to the days of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and the forbidden fruit, and other Biblical teachings, especially by Jesus. The service was interspaced with performances by different choir groups from the EEC and UEBC orchestras.

The Honorary President of EEC, Pastor Charles Njike, drew his sermon from John 28:10 on Jesus’ ascension to heaven. He also spoke on the creation of CEVAA on October 30, 1971 in Paris which in October 1999 became the Community of Evangelical Mission. The objective of the mission, he said, is to support communal activities and missionary programmes for the testimony and evangelisation of member churches as well as encouraging the circulation of information.

The message of the day came from the President General of UEBC, Pastor Emmanuel Mbenda and intercessory prayers for the nation by Pastor Isaac Batome, President General of EEC. The programme continues till May 13 with a round table discussion, musical concerts, among others.
