The village’s development association has scheduled the event for November 2012.
‘Djoum Promo 2012,’ the second trade fair organised by the Djoum Development Association (Djoumdev), will take place this November in Djoum, a village located in the Dja and Lobo Division of the South Region near the border area with Congo Brazzaville and Gabon.
According to the President of Djoumdev, Jean-Claude Essoo, the strategic position of Djoum and the context of decentralisation create an ideal opportunity for the people and their neighbours from Oveng and Mintom to develop their region. The organisers believe that the trade fair will be beneficial to the younger generation in search of employment and business opportunities.
Participants at the fair are expected to also take advantage of the numerous business opportunities Djoum and the surrounding villages offer. Organisers also hope to develop a professional network between local people and visitors to the event. The first Djoum trade fair in 2009 attracted over 300 participants and organisations.
