The Cameroon Bible Society on Wednesday May 9, 2012 joined the rest of the world to celebrate this year’s World Prayer Day.
The day set is aside by national Bible societies and partners all over the world to give thanks to God for the work done so far as they seek His strength to carry on. The theme for this year was “Let us work hard for the service of the Lord.”
In his sermon, Rev. Kamta Issa encouraged Christians to be steadfast. Preaching from I Corinthians 15:58, he said it was an occasion for Christians to work more in the service of God through human beings. Participants prayed that the Bible would transform the lives of all groups of people in Cameroon.
The Cameroon Bible Society was created in 1959 in Yaounde to be at the service of churches. Its vision is to see that every Cameroonian possesses at least a portion of the Holy Scriptures in the language they understand better.
