Yaounde: Suspected Witch Crashes On Rooftop

The police said Pofako Adaizou Jeanne appeared to be growing older as time went on.

A crowd of curious onlookers on Thursday May 10, 2012 gathered at the Melen Police Station in Yaounde to see the woman whose spirit plane crashed on to a rooftop near the Government Bilingual High School in the Etoug-Ebe neighbourhood of the city.

According to an official in the police station who opted to remain anonymous, Pofako Adaizou Jeanne who as at 11 a.m. when Cameroon Tribune’s reporter arrived the station looked aged 50, had crashed on to roof in her spirit plane at about 2 a.m. on Thursday May 10. The crash is said to have been so violent that she rolled off the roof and fell to the ground. She was said to have been naked at the time of the accident. The officer said eye witnesses told him that at the time of the fall, the woman looked much younger; like a teenager.

The woman, according to the police, was brought to the station at about 7 a.m. for her own safety as local residents had threatened to harm her. Looking so absent-minded as she sat in the Melen Police Station, Pofako appeared not to give any damn to the growing crowd outside. The police have meanwhile opened investigations into allegations of practice of witchcraft against her.
