The project for the valorisation of Central African Literature was lunched in Yaounde on Tuesday.

A four-day international workshop on the putting in place of the project for the valorisation of Central African Literature opened in Yaounde on Tuesday May 8, 2012.

Organised by the International Centre for Research and Documentation on African Traditions (CREDOTOLA) in collaboration with “Université Libre de Bruxelles,” the workshop brings together participants from the Central African sub region. The workshop also marks the effective take off of the project for the training and professionals in documentation in universities in the sub region. The Yaounde meeting will enable representatives from the different countries to define the common norms of treatment and management of documents, on the one hand, and the management of the digital library in Central Africa on the other hand. For four days participants will be drilled on topics such as “The fundamental notions of electronic libraries”, “Strengthening of skills on the computerisation of documents”, and “Training on logistics of digital libraries”, among others.

Conceived and put in place by CREDOTOLA with in collaboration with cooperation between the University of the Kingdom of Belgium, through the University Commission for Development and the “Université Libre de Bruxelles”, the project has as objective to realise the computerisation and putting on line Doctorate, Masters Degree thesis from universities in Central Africa. CREDOTOLA has already signed partnership agreements with certain universities notably Bangui, Brazzaville, Burundi, Bujumbura, Kinshasa and N’djamena. The Universities of Yaounde 1 and II as well as the Catholic University of Central Africa and the Protestant University of Yaounde will be associated.
