INJS won the general trophy for the second year in a row in Buea.

The Higher Institute of Youth and Sports, INJS fulfilled the promise they made prior to their departure for Buea for the 15th edition of the university games that they were going the conserve the first position they occupied the year before. True to their promise, INJS came first on the medal tally with a total of 45 medals, 17 in gold, 16 in silver and 12 bronze, far above their closest rival, the University of Yaounde II equally with 45 medals but with only 12 in gold and ten silver.

The achievement of INJS comes as no surprise as Team INJS started preparing for the competition for months before the kick off. The preparation was so solid that the athletes sounded confident even before the kick off of the competition. In a send off ceremony at the premises of the institution in Yaounde, the students responded in unison “Yes!!!” when the Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, who was presiding at the ceremony, asked whether they were ready for the games.

The success of INJS is the fruitful of hard work and good management by the administration of the school which did not only make sure that the athletes train under the best possible conditions but also provided the necessary equipment for them to blossom. Athletes from INJS were the best equipped during the games as the administration of the school provided a new set of jerseys to every athlete and a sports bag. Besides guidance from guardians and trainers, Team INJS was also spurred by a dynamic fans clubs that cheered the athletes to victory in song and dance. More, so, the INJS delegation also benefitted from the good relationship that exist between the trainers and athletes and the good spirit of camaraderie that reigned among the athletes who vowed in the anthem of the institution, to continue flying the flag of the school high in the concert of universities in Cameroon and even beyond. Their ceremonial departure was also attended by Directors of the Ministry of Sports and Physical education who are all products of the school and each received a set of sports equipment to enable them keep fit after office work. One can only say kudos to INJS and bravo for keeping the promise to their director, Daniel Ngoa Nguele.
