He reportedly admitted leading robbery operations in major towns in the region in the past months.

Residents of Kossala Quarters in Fiango, Kumba in Meme Division of South West Region recently arrested one suspected gangster, whose only name CAMNEWS was able to get was Augustine. He is suspected to be a member of a gang which has been making life uneasy for people in the division and the region in the past months.

CAMNEWS gathered that Augustine is said to have recently led several armed robbery operations in Kumba, Buea, Tiko and Limbe, all in the South West Region. He is thought to belong to a gang of five whose members are said to be enjoying the effective collaboration of a number of local young girls who are already at large.

The suspected gang leader was almost lynched after arrest but he pleaded to be given another chance to live, promising to disclose the names of his accomplices as well as all the operations they had carried out. As he was naming the accomplices, some who were in the crowd, started escaping.

Reports say while he was being beaten, a five-round locally made pistol loaded with bullets was discovered on him. The gun was seized by an ex-soldier named Maurice who dragged him to the police station. Augustine is now helping the police with investigations.
