Milla Roger Fired From Cameroon FA

This was the major decision taken by the FA general assembly that met on Wednesday.

The news started circulating like rumour and expectations heightened as the agenda of the Fecafoot general assembly was made public, now it has been confirmed. Roger Milla the African footballer of the century and erstwhile Honorary President of Fecafoot has been radiated from the football family in Cameroon. The decision comes as no surprise given the rift that exist between the President of Fecafoot, Iya Mohammed and Roger Milla, with the Roving ambassador calling for departure of Iya Mohamed from the Fecafoot presidency and threatening to organise a protest match to the Fecafoot head office to demand the resignation of Iya Mohammed.

Other heads that rolled included that of David Mayebi and Charles Emedec who fell from Iya’s grace on financial grounds. The president of the defunct association of professional footballers (AFP) fell apart with the federation when he refused the federation to pry into the financial earnings and management of AFP. Probably in anticipation of an eventual exclusion from Fecafoot, David Mayebi long before transformed AFP to the Footballer’s trade union, SYNAFOC.

The bone of contention now, is which association will henceforth represent Footballers in the executive committee and general assembly of Fecafoot as recommended by FIFA, mindful of the fact that Joseph Antoine Bell recently created a rival footballers association known as the Union of Footballers. It is worthy to mention that only FIFPRO is recognised by FIFA to represent the interest of footballers at the international level and at the national level, SYNAFOC is recognised by FIFPRO to which it is affiliated.

As concerns Charles Emedec, he was dismissed for purportedly embezzling FCFA 25 million given by Fecafoot for the construction of a regional office for the federation in the West Region. Besides the battery of expulsions, the Fecafoot general assembly also validated the report of activities of the association from May 28, 2011 to May 16, 2012. The financial audit report approved also and the budget for 2012 which stands at about FCFA 2.5 billion was equally adopted. Some internal regulations of the federation were modified and adopted. The concerned regulations are related to the disciplinary code of the federation, the electoral code as well as status and general regulations of the federation.
