The Mokolo market in Yaounde has become a place for bizarre happenings. After a beautiful lady stepped out of her car to reveal her family jewel to the public, it was the turn of two girls who had their dresses taken off in public against their will on Saturday May 12, 2012. The story goes that the girls were on a regular shopping spree in the market when they were surrounded by a group of boys who started ripping off the ladies’ clothes. While the girls struggled to hide their nakedness, the boys purported to be bandits, took advantage of the confusion to rip the girls of their valuable belongings. The girls were taken to the Mokolo police station clad as Eve and were only saved from public disgrace by a Good Samaritan who offered them dresses to hide their nakedness. Two of the suspected bandits, Tamo and Malianne, have been apprehended and are currently helping the police in their investigation.
