Military Honours Fallen Soldier

The late parachutist, Maxime Aimé Ngouloure, was buried in Foumban on Saturday, June 9.

It was a rather gloomy atmosphere at the Military Headquarters in Yaoundé last Friday June 8. The event was the funeral ceremony of the late Second Class Soldier, Maxime Aimé Ngouloure Njoumavoui, who died on duty on May 19, 2012 in Yaounde during a parachuting exercise as part of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of Cameroon’s national day celebrations.

The event was presided over by the Minister of Defence Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o. Relatives, colleagues, friends and sympathisers who turned out to bid their last farewell to the deceased could not hold back their tears as the casket was driven out of the courtyard of the ceremonial grounds at the military headquarters.

Maxime Aimé Ngouloure was born on the 26th of May 1980 in Yaounde. He attended primary and secondary education in Yaounde. After obtaining the BEPC, he joined the military corps on September 5th, 2000 where he served with loyalty and devotion. According to his colleagues, the late soldier will be remembered for his courage and bravery in the exercise of his duty.

Maxime Aimé Ngouloure hailed from Foumban in the Noun Division of the West Region. He leaves behind a fiancée and three children. The mortal remains of the late Second Class Soldier Maxime Aimé Nouloure Njoumavoui were buried in his home town, Foumban on Saturday, June 9.
