Home Based Musicians promoted

Culture delegate announced Thursday their use in the forthcoming International Music day.

Following the forthcoming International day of music, the Regional Delegate of Culture, Oumarou Mana Madi has announced that home based musicians will have the opportunity to show their know how to the population. He was speaking during a brief meeting with pressmen and organizers.

The international day of music is celebrated on June 21 internationally and Douala as well as other regions of Cameroon prepare towards this day. This year’s edition is celebrated with emphasis on pop music

Mana Madi said on this occasion, four podiums will be mounted at Cite Sic at Marion Stade, Texaco Village, 4 Etages Bonaberi and Akwa. These places he believes are neighborhoods largely inhabited and so the population will come out to make the day a success in Douala.

He added that musicians have already registered and are still registering to participate, both home based and those who have made their names in the music world.

According to the Delegate the international day of music is important because it creates that atmosphere for the population to come together to appreciate the products from the country, creates also a better atmosphere for better relationship.

He announced that in all four podiums staging will be done simultaneously but if the musicians want to alternate from podium to podium they are free to do so. He said measures have been put in place to ensure total security.

Prior to the 21, a debate has been organized on the 19 of June at the French Cultural Centre, on Music open to the public.
