The Chinese Government Has Undertaken To Contribute In The Construction Of The Kribi Deep Sea Port.

In accordance with the 2006 China-Africa Summit agreement, the Peoples Republic of China has also agreed to construct a highway linking the Nsimalen International Airport to Yaounde.

These are the major projects that have been identified after the visiting Vice Minister met with a number of top government authorities.

Minister Gao Hongfeng who is on a four day visit to Cameroon went on an excursion to the site to host the Kribi Deep Sea Port.

He was visibly impressed with the volume of work that is currently on going at the site; bull dozers are currently grading the hectares of land reserved for the cargo terminal of the port while the to and fro of big lorries only tell the story of a project that shall transform Kribi and impact on the economy of Cameroon.

Minister Gao Hongfeng at the end of the tour, reiterated that his mission to Cameroon is to reinforce and consolidate the already strong ties binding Cameroon and his country, China.

He affirms that the project shall boost Cameroon’s economy and further strengthen relations between the two countries.

The port upon completion shall open Cameroon’s international waters to big ships which presently cannot anchor at the Douala sea port.

The immediate economic fall outs shall include increased custom earnings, thousands more of direct and indirect jobs and an increase in exports.

If the Kribi Deep Sea port project is realised, it shall be another landmark benefits of Sino-Cameroon relations; the most recent being the magnificent multipurpose sports complex in Yaounde which is now a place for major international competitions.
