Late Police Official Receives Honours

The Delegate for National Security bid farewell to Christopher Ngam on Friday in Yaounde.


Senior staff of the police corps were present at the esplanade of the National Higher Police School in Yaounde last Friday June 29 to solemnly honour the late Inspector General N°1 in the General Delegation for National Security (DGSN), Police Superintendent Bung Christopher Ngam. He died on 17th June in Yaounde after a protracted illness.
On behalf of the police corps, the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele bowed before the casket draped in national colours.
Bung Christopher Ngam was born on 28th October 1958 in Njinikom in Boyo Division, North West Region. He was admitted into the National Higher Police School in 1981 at the age of 23. He graduated as Superintendent of Police in 1983 and rose up to Senior Superintendent of Police six years later. Besides giving lectures at the Police School for 18 years, he served in various positions at the DGSN that culminated in his appointment on 3rd May 2011 as Inspector General N°1 at the DGSN; a post he occupied until his death after 30 years of service. He was married and leaves behind four children.
