Ako People Appeal For Promotion in CPDM

The border Subdivision to Nigeria has remained faithful to President Paul Biya.

The people of Ako Subdivision in Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region have urged President Paul Biya, the National President of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) to promote natives of the area to the Central Committee and Political Bureau of the party. They would want the Donga Mantung III, Ako Section President who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Ako and Misaje Donga Mantung West constituency, Hon. Ntoi Joseph E. Kay to be raised from the current alternate member of the CPDM Central Committee to a Substantive member or a member of the party’s Political Bureau.

The elite of Ako Subdivision through their spokesperson, Ngi Christopher Ntoh made the appeal on June 20, 2012 during the contact and working visit of the North West Regional Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique to Ako Subdivision. Talking to Cameroon Tribune in Yaounde, Hon. Ntoi Joseph said Ako was the bedrock of the CPDM in Donga Mantung Division, justified by the overwhelming victory of President Paul Biya in the area in the October 9, 2011 presidential election and the party’s victory during the July 2007 twin legislative and municipal elections. The Ako population believes that promoting their natives in the CPDM, as well as in senior positions in the Cameroon administration will enhance their unalloyed support to the Head of State, institutions of the Republic and local development.

Governor Lele Lafrique left Ako Subdivision that has vast borders with Nigeria with messages of thanks to convey to the Head of State for some development projects carried out in the area. The spokesperson of the elite singled out the creation and effective take off of Government Secondary and Technical Schools, opening of health centres, ongoing construction of border markets worth FCFA 200 million, and the imminent implantation of the CDC palms plantation in the Subdivision. The people would want Ako Subdivision to be raised to a full division, electrification done and the rehabilitation of roads such as the Mbande-Ako; Buku-Abafum, Nzibie-Akwaja, Konchep-Akwaja; Akwaja-Amba-Akwesse. “Ako Subdivision is the bread basket of Donga Mantung Division and beyond. It has all the resources necessary for political, social and economic boom,” Ngi Christopher Ntoh said.
