The current of the water was violent and carried away the people.

Three people died in a river around the Ndogpassi market in village on July 31. A little girl, a truck pusher who is dumb and his friend. The story goes that the continuous rainfall in Douala has caused the water level of the river to rise and water current very violent. The little girl was crossing the water with her younger sister when her slippers fell in the water. On trying to follow the slippers she fell in the water and the force of the water carried her away. While she was crying out for help and her younger sister too was crying for help. People were a little far off and could not hear them, only a dumb who is a truck pusher saw the incident and on trying to help, he too fell in the river and the current carried him away. The pusher’s friend also came to his rescue but was in turn carried away by the water. The corpse of the little girl was recovered on August 1 and has been put in the mortuary.
