New Chinese Ambassador in Yaounde

Wo Ruidi presented advanced copies of his letters of credence September 3.

The new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cameroon, Wo Ruidi Monday, September 3 presented advanced copies of his letters of credence to the Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo. This was during an audience at the Ministry.

Ambassador Wo Ruidi who replaces Xue Jinwei, was born in June 1954. He is married and has one daughter. Before his appointment to Cameroon, he was since 2009, Ambassador at the African Department in the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Cameroon is the third African country in which Wo Ruidi is serving as an Ambassador. Between 2003 and 2007, he was the Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Congo. From Congo, he was appointed Ambassador to Madagascar where he headed the Chinese diplomatic mission from 2007 to 2009. Just a year after starting work, he was in 1979 sent to work at the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Guinea. From Guinea, he was promoted to the post of Attaché at the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Togo. Wo Ruidi also worked in France as well as occupied high functions in his country’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
