PCC Pastors Urged To Obey Ordination Vows

Over 400 pastors from all over Cameroon met in a conference in Bamenda.

For the first time in 30 years, pastors of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, were in Bamenda recently to seek ways of winning more souls to Christ as well as take the church forward. The PCC has, of recent, been plagued with so many negative scandals that warrant cleansing both from God and from the eyes of the people.

For three days, the pastors’ conference that held at the Presbyterian Church Ntamulung premises was a rare moment for the men and women of God to look at those issues that put cracks in the church and see how to amend them. Accountability and transparency in the management of church affairs are some of the values that the synod of the PCC is striving to instill in its pastors.

The PCC is also faced with the challenges of modern Christianity where Christians go for miracles, wonders and instant healing. The PCC is putting all it takes to keep Christians within the doctrine of the church while worshipping the Almighty God.

While opening the pastors’ conference, the Moderator of the PCC, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Festus Ambe Asana called on all the pastors to stick to their ordination vows. He called on them to stay by each other so as to clean the image of the PCC. He said due to hardship and voracity, some pastors had indulged in unorthodox practices to live better lives.

The Moderator stressed that it was high time to end such practices and announced that an accounting unit would soon go operational in the PCC. He equally cautioned the pastors not to allow anger to push them to sin and encouraged them to stay focused. He was optimistic that pastors will use knowledge gathered to improve on the PCC.
