Forjindam Awaits Court Decision

The former CNIC GM, who currently sustains two different prison terms, is again being tried with swindling 22 million F. The Wouri High Court on October 11, 2012 for the second time adjourned hearing of the third embezzlement case pitting former General Manager of the Cameroon Shipyard and Industrial Engineering Limited (CNIC), Zaccheus Mungwe Forjindam, and his collaborators. The court session which was supposed to deliver its verdict on the 22 million F embezzlement charge simply pushed forward its proclamation to October 25 this year.

During this time the court would have decided appropriately, defence lawyer Djoubarou Ousmanou. If found guilty, he will for the third time be punished following a 2008 alarm sounded by his CNIC collaborators who imputed allegations of embezzlement.

Zaccheus Mungwe Forjindam is presently serving a 15-year-jail term at the New Bell Prison, after which he will begin the life jail slammed by the court earlier this year. The punishment stems from years of findings by the High Court and Appeal Court in Douala which proved he misdirected 4 million F in the former and 206 million F in the latter.
