Over 1,570 Voters Registered in North West Region

The Electoral Board Chairman of Elections Cameroon is on the field mobilising voters.

The biometric recompilation of voters’ register is gradually gathering steam in the Bamenda I, II and III Councils that make up the Bamenda City Council where the ongoing voters’ registration was simultaneously launch with other regional headquarters of Cameroon. Reports from ELECAM North West Regional Delegation indicate that over 1570 people registered by Friday, October 12, 2012. In the number, 1142 are men, 428 women and six disabled people.

With the ongoing tour by the Chairman of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), Dr Fonkam Azu’u Samuel to some parts of the North West to explain the goodness of biometric registration of voters, more potential voters are expected to develop enthusiasm for the operation. He launched the tour with a press conference in Bamenda last October 9. Fonkam Azu’u is expected to explain the biometric voters’ registration in Ndop and Balikumbat Subdivisions in Ngoketunjia Division today, October 17. He was on the same mission in Wum, Menchum Division yesterday and was also in Fundong, Belo and Njinikom Subdivisions of Boyo Division on Monday, October 15. Other places Fonkam Azu’u is programmed to visit are Oku and Kumbo in Bui Division, Nkambe and Misaje in Donga Mantung Division and Mbengwi in Momo Division among others.
