Massock Songloulou Getting Set For Fiercer Political Competition

Members and supporters of the ruling CPDM party from Sanaga Maritime North Section in Massock Songloulou Subdivision, Sanaga Maritime Division of Littoral Region, on Tuesday November 6 marked President Paul Biya’s 30th anniversary in power with a call for them to get set for fiercer political competition with other parties next year.

Speaking at two rallies at Massock Songloulou and Songmbengue, the Chair of the Council Committee for Mobilising Militants to Register on Electoral Rolls and head of the CPDM Central Committee delegation, Dr Emmanuel Samuel Wonyu, reminded the militants that the area had always witnessed strong political competition because of the presence of several parties. He announced his personal support in the coming days to promote football in the subdivision in honour of local people who have contributed to the development of Cameroon’s football.

With the imminent start of work on the Songloulou Hydro-electric Dam, Dr Wonyu cautioned the people not to forget that politics is a give-and-take game. So, they need to work harder and together in unity in order to receive more from government. A member of the CPDM Political Bureau, Mrs. Genevieve Tjoues, qualified 30 years of Biya stewardship as having transformed the country, bringing about peace and stability. She recalled with joy how Paul Biya, then the Prime Minister, commissioned the Songloulou Bridge on River Sanaga in 1982 - six months before he became Head of State.
