Bikok CPDM Militants Adhere To Emergence Drive

The ceremonial ground at Bikok in the Mefou-Akono Division of the Centre Region was the venue of celebrations to mark the 30th anniversary of President Paul Biya’s accession to power on Monday November 6, 2012.

Thousands of CPDM militants from Bikok and neighbouring villages that make up the Mefou-Akono Division thronged the venue to show their support to the Head of Sate. It was a moment for the militants to reflect on the activities of the past 30 years and to plan for the future.

The different speakers at the occasion stressed on the need to work hand in glove to support the President in his achievements. The CPDM Section President for Mefou-Akono East, Hon. Florent Ayissi Etoundi said for the past 30 years, the country has moved from one State university to seven. He said CPDM has done much in the Division but much still needs to be done especially in the domains of water and electricity supply as well as road infrastructure. However, he said, there is hope that there will be solutions to these problems.

The CPDM Central Committee Delegate for Mefou-Akono, Bihina Eloundou Floribert said the celebration was an occasion for the militants to ensure mobilisation of militants on the biometric recompilation of electoral lists. He called on militants to be vigilant in the face of negative strategies of the opposition in order to attain better results in the elections as compared to 2011.
