Police Track Down Cocaine Dealers

Hassan Faysal and Ibrahim Sahadou were caught last week in Douala with 47 packets of drugs.

The criminal circulation of illicit drugs such as cocaine, ganja, and marijuana is an age-old challenge that the police are still to eradicate. However, successive efforts have led to a good number of tracking, confiscation and detaining of suspects, as well as the jailing of the guilty. Douala, last week, recorded another spectacular catch as Rapid Intervention Unit (ESIR) tracked and nabbed two individuals with 47 packets of cocaine.

The duo, Hassan Faysal and Ibrahim Sahadou were rounded up in front of a Bonadibong hotel in the night of November 20 waiting to have their regular customers come for the mess. It was in a calculated move during a routine tour of the city by Assistant Police Superintendent, Sebastien Mofor, leading the police patrol, that the actions of the two suspects prompted an urgent investigation.

The police wagon turned around and finally came to a halt. Policemen jumped out, hid opposite the hotel and suddenly burst upon at their hide-out just nearby the hotel. By the time of their arrests, the two drug dealers were in possession of 47 packets of cocaine, 5 mobile phones, a digital camera, a motorbike and the sum of FCFA 97.400 obtained from previous sales. With their booty, Hassan and Ibrahim were taken to the Littoral Regional Department of the Judicial Police in Bonanjo for further investigations.
