New Deal Achievements Celebrated In Britain

Party supporters celebrated 30 years of President Paul Biya’s reign.

Supporters of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain on November 10, 2012 lauded President Paul Biya, recounting his achievements since accession to the supreme magistracy on November 6, 1982.  This was part of celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the advent of the New Deal government that took place across Cameroon and abroad on November 6, 2012.

In a release signed by Isabelle Njoya, Secretary of the South of UK Sub-section of the CPDM, the celebration took place at the premises of the Cameroon High Commission in London, attended by some 250 CPDM supporters and other dignitaries. The Cameroon High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Nkwelle Ekaney joined the other speakers such as UK CPDM Section President, Barrister Samuel Kale, South of England Sub-section President, Jacqueline Tsague and North of England Sub-section President, Alfred Bawak to highlight the achievements of President Biya.  Moralisation, discipline, peace, national unity, security, economic growth and introduction of multi-party politics ran across all the speeches.

The High Commissioner singled out the inclusion of Cameroonians in the Diaspora in the electoral process through participation in voting the President of the Republic as a demonstration of Paul Biya’s commitment to democracy. They sent a motion of congratulation and support to President Paul Biya as he pilots the affairs of the nation. Celebrations in Great Britain were on the theme, “Achieving together.”
