Government To Promote Beneficial International Cooperation

The 2013 draft budget of the Ministry of External Relations stands at FCFA 28.641 billion.

The Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum on Thursday, November 29, 2012 morning at the Committee on Finance and Budget of the National Assembly defended the ministry’s 2013 draft budget that stands at FCFA 28.641 billion compared to FCFA 24.987 billion for 2012 fiscal year.  The ministry plans to use FCFA 26.141 billion as recurrent budget and FCFA 2.5 billion as the investment budget.

The draft budget whose programme and objective are clearly spelt out, targets promoting the country’s bilateral cooperation potential and the Cameroonian Diaspora. In this domain the ministry plans to capitalise the cooperation potential and ensure that Cameroonians abroad draw much benefit for the country.

The Ministry of External Relations also intends to use the 2013 budget to boost multilateral and decentralised cooperation with the objective to using the opportunities to benefit Cameroon through the number of strategic international conferences and forums attended as well as placing Cameroonians every year in the international public service.  The draft budget Minister Adoum Gargoum defended also lays emphasis on diplomatic action governance with the objective to enhance programme implementation efficiency through the level of execution of MINREX programmes.
