This was during celebrations to mark end of year feasts in the institution on Friday, December 28, 2012.

It was a festive atmosphere in Yaounde Gynaeco-obstetric Hospital on Friday, December 28, 2012. The event was the Christmas tree celebration and end of year festivities of the staff of the institution. The event took place in the presence of officials of the hospital, the Ministry of Pubic Health and guests.

Speaking during the occasion, the President of the Board of Directors, Charles Sale said the event aimed at bringing joy to the sick children and reward workers who have given their best over the years for the success of the hospital. He thanked both national and international partners especially The People’s Republic of China for their support notably the donation of ten new incubators to the hospital. Charles Sale called on all actors to continue to work hard in order to make the hospital an example of referral hospitals in the country.

The event was particular in that children came to celebrate with those who are sick in hospital and to encourage them during the Christmas period. The children used songs, sketches and dance to pass on their message. Prizes were awarded to some workers who have distinguished themselves in 2012. Staff due retirement were bid farewell. He called on the laureates to be an example for others to follow.
