Minister Moukoko Mbonjo yesterday had discussions with the US and French Ambassadors.

Cameroon’s Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo and the Ambassadors of the United States of America, Robert P. Jackson and France, Bruno Gain yesterday, January 22, 2013 in separate audiences discussed the armed conflicts and political crises currently rocking the Central African Republic, Mali and Sudan.

The US Ambassador to Cameroon, Robert P. Jackson disclosed that they talked about the upcoming African Union summit, the situations in Sudan, the Central African Republic and Mali. “In all those countries, the US and Cameroon share similar visions and want to promote peace and reconciliation,” he explained.

The two officials also talked about the Cameroon-US partnership, specifically the three upcoming Joint Military exercises scheduled for this January and next month February. The US government he said, also plans to re-launch the three-year over FCFA 8 billion “Food for Education Programme” in the northern part of the country to start next month.

Ambassador Bruno Gain of France expressed the delight of his government following President Paul Biya’s support for the French intervention in the crisis in Mali. He said the intervention which will not last for long, was within the framework of the resolution of the UN Security Council. He expressed the wish for the Libreville Agreement on the crisis in the Central African Republic to be implemented in good faith.
