U.E.B.C. Evaluates Strides

The church council met in Douala on Wednesday, to begin their 62nd National Conference.

Once again, the annual rendez-vous was respected when members of ‘Union des Eglises Baptiste du Cameroun’ (U.E.B.C.) answered present at the Jerusalem Assembly in Bonaberi for their 62nd National Conference. Regrouping Christians from all over the national territory, the come together holding from Tuesday January 29 to Thursday 31 is chaired by the U.E.B.C. National President, Reverend Emmanuel Mbenda.

For three days, the clergy will do a stock taking of the just ended year, as well as establish prospects for 2013. According to reports from the organising committee, upto 80% of activities for 2012 were realised, with focus on the training of personnel like Evangelists, Pastors, teachers, and other leaders of the different groups. Consequently, 42 staff had been trained, being 14 in Ndiki, 21 in Mokom, seven in the Prostestant University; while the consecration of new Pastors is scheduled for November 2013. The objective is to ensure continuity, even as older Pastors go on retirement. Themed: “Lord, only you can help us,” drawn from II Chronicles 14 verse 11, the participants were enthused to surrender unto the God and put Him at the forefront of their activities, in a homily by Pastor Leon Louis Lobe Macka. Administrative, municipal and traditional authorities attended the meeting, alongside presidents and representatives from other sister churches.
