Armed Hold-up In Bonaberi

Besides money looted there were a number of serious threats to harm petrol station attendants Saturday.

Robbers who held up Tradex petrol station attendants and a night watchman early Saturday may soon be picked up. Police say the men were masked and armed with three pistols and knives and threatened fatal incidents on Tradex petrol station attendants near Bepele area just before 3am on February 2.

After compelling the five attendants and a night watchman into the station’s store on Bepele road about 2:30am – gun pointed on their faces then later on the back of their heads – they entered and demanded cash from the attendants. The robbers escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash from the save, but some CFA 150,000F and mobile phones that were on them are confirmed to have been stripped and fled with. They were chased by a number of witnesses but none was arrested.

At gun point, the attendants Gisele Ngongne, Eboa Nkongo, Alain Beyega and Narcisse, including the Chief attendants whose name we could not immediately get, as well as the night watchman, Ferdinand Rapsana, reportedly told the police how they risked their lives if any attempts were made to forestall the devastating experience. Nevertheless, a Police officer attested to this fact when he said there were a number of serious threats to harm the attendants. Security investigations into the armed hold-up have been opened

Investigation into the matter has been opened at the 15th District Public Security Police Station.
