A man by name Desmond Egesi Uchechukwu, who police identified as a Nigerian expatriate, was arrested at the Douala International Airport at about 11am Monday.

Egesi Uchechukwa who travelled on board an Asky Airlines plane from Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo to Douala, Cameroon, was picked up by the police during a check up after he was found with 23 packets of cocaine.

The lawless passenger stocked the packets of cocaine in his suite’s pockets. Following a further search of his luggage by the policemen, another quantity of cocaine hidden in his bag was discovered. He admitted to police queries of having even swallowed some of the deadly drug shortly before taking off from Brazzaville. Littoral Regional Department of the Judicial Police and the Public Security Police Station of the Airport have jointly opened an investigation to track down his potential buyers and completely break down the network in Cameroon.
