Astres football club has taken an early lead in the championship after recording a draw and a victory on the first and second days of play respectively. Though five teams share the top seat with four points each, Astres has the goal advantage over the four other rivals which tentatively places them on the top of the point tally sheet.

Astres Played a one-all draw against the defending champions, Union on the opening day of play and beat Panthere 2-0 on the second day of play over the weekend in Douala to have a plus two goal difference.

Tonnerre, Coton Sport, Yong Sport and Unisport share the runners-up position on four points and plus one goal each though ranked second, third, fourth and fifth respectively. There are five teams in the middle of the tale with two points each and with zero goal difference though ranked 6^th, 7^th, 8^th, 9^th and 10^th respectively. The third category of clubs, are those with one point and a minus one goal difference; namely Union and Renaissance in the 11^th and 12^th positions in that order. Panthere with one point and minus two goal difference occupies the 13^th position while Sable closes the table with zero points in two outings and a deficit of two goals.

However, it is too early to comment about the performances of teams given that the championship is just at the beginning. However, Tonnerre can be said to be keeping true to their promise to clinch a continental spot next year as they occupy the runner position after tough meeting with very tough opponents on the first two days of play. They pulled a one-all draw against the vice champions, Coton on the first day of play and beating the defending champion, Union on the second day of play.
