External Relations:Staff Urged To Be More Committed

Prof. Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo received New Year Wishes from staff on February 14.

The Minister of External Relations, Prof. Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo has invited staff of his ministry to be more committed, professional and above all, shun injustice. The Minister made the remarks on February 14 at his ministry in Yaounde while receiving New Year Wishes from staff of his ministry. “Injustice, has led to the inability of some hardworking staff helping the ministry to achieve its roadmap, to enjoy benefits like going on missions,” he regretted. The Minister warned selfish staff who want all for themselves and nothing for others to desist from such acts.

Moreover, Prof. Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo reemphasised that “the Diplomatic activity, carried out at the level of the ministry was entirely dedicated to the realisation of the ‘Greater Accomplishment’ programme earmarked under the seven-year term of office of President Paul Biya. I will like to congratulate your sense of devotion in the daily activities carried out under the mission of Cameroon’s diplomacy,” Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo hailed. He explained that Cameroon has continued to deserve the confidence, friendship and consideration of its partners as testified by the number of envoys, dignitaries and plenipotentiaries received by the Head of State. The country was honoured to successfully defend the vision of the Head of State in the globalised world of the 21st century in the sub-region and world.

Speaking earlier, the Secretary General of the Ministry, Felix Mbayu, appreciated the great work the Minister has done to staff since his appointment. “Challenges abound in every institution, but there is a glimmer of hope, Felix Mbayu hinted. He therefore called for the facilitation of career profiles while appreciating efforts being put in place to construct a new Ministry of External Relations at Mballa II, on an eight-hectare of land.

The Minister, accompanied by the Ministers Delegate in charge of Relations with the Commonwealth and the Islamic World, extended appreciation to those awarded medals on account of 20th May 2012 and for others who legitimately went on retirement, for the service rendered to the country’s diplomacy.
