Over 150,000 Certificates For Littoral Region

Laureates of the FSLC, CEP and CAPIEMP were honoured in Douala yesterday.

The Governor of the Littoral Region, Joseph Beti Assomo has called on three batches of successful candidates in official examinations to jealously preserve the knowledge acquired during their studies. He was addressing a mammoth crowd that turned at the Banquet Hall of his office premises yesterday March 19, while presided at the official award ceremony of diplomas to successful candidates of official examinations. A total of 151.650 certificates have been made available to laureates for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 sessions in the Region as a whole.

 

For the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC), there are a total of 10.325 diplomas; while the French equivalent known as “Certificat d’Etude Primaire” (CEP) has 135.000 successful candidates. The other category of beneficiaries includes graduates from Government Teachers’ Training Colleges in the Region, who are honoured with an end of course certificate known as CAPIEMP, acknowledging them as ready-made nursery and primary school teachers.

Joseph Beti Assomo personally launched the official handing over of the certificates to mark the symbolic exercise; followed by authorities present. The four Divisional Delegates of Basic Education for the Moungo, Nkam, Sanaga-Maritime and Wouri Divisions, received the diplomas boxes for their respective Divisions, for onward distribution to the different examination centres.
