854 Voters For Senate Election In South West

The six polling centres in the South West are already prepared for the forthcoming election.

Following the forthcoming Senatorial election to take place in Cameroon, the South West region is said to be well prepared for the exercise. Speaking to CT, the Regional Delegate of Elections Cameroon, ELECAM, in the South West Region, Mr. Emmanuel Njang, said preparations for the senatorial election began in the South West Region a month ago. He noted that polling centres are the divisional head quarters and there are six in number.

He added that there are 17 polling stations in the South West Region. In Fako Division, there four stations with 216 voters. In Kupe Muaneguba there are two polling stations with 83 voters, in Lebialem there are two polling stations with 92 voters, in Manyu Division, there are two polling stations with 106 voters, in Meme Division there are three polling stations with 144 voters and in Ndian Division, there are four polling stations with 213 voters, giving the South West Region a total of 854 voters.

The ELECAM boss revealed that voters’ cards have been dispatched to the various polling stations and municipal councillors are expected to present two passport size photographs which will be used on the cards and their finger prints placed on the provided space. For the time being, he said, they still await the ballot papers which will be printed after the political parties have chosen their colours. He also said the final list of the candidates has not been published.
