Francis Emmanuel Sitouok and Francis Onyeava Ngwa died in Yaounde and Bamenda last week.

The news came like a bomb shell in the news room of Cameroon Tribune last week. Emmanuel Sitouok, former Chief of Sports Service in CRTV died on Wednesday Marc 20, 2013 in Yaounde after a brief illness.

Born on January 13, 1944, in Bandjoun, Francis Emmanuel Sitouok began his career as an animator in CRTV in 1966. He latter passed the entrance examination into ESIJY in Yaounde in 1975. After obtaining a degree in 1978 he joined the CRTV Radio where he worked as bureau chief of sports. He was later appointed Chief of Service Sports television. In 1992 he was appointed Chief of station CRTV Bafoussam. After serving for a few months he was transferred to CRTV Centre where he served till retirement in 2001.

Francis Emmanuel Sitouok won the Grand Chancellery of the National Orders in July 1988. He covered the African Cup of Nations in 1984 during which Cameroon won its first African Cup of Nations and had a wide range of international experiences. Francis Emmanuel Sitouok was married to Sitouk Julienne. He leaves behind his wife, six children and two grand children to mourn for him.

Meanwhile, Late Francis Onyeava Ngwa was one of the pioneer journalists in CRTV North West. He was among the first recruits of the then Radio Cameroon. He spent all his working life in CRTV Bamenda. Ayatola, as he was fondly called, was born on the January 7, 1957 in Banjah Bamenda III Subdivision and he joined the CRTV on the 12 of May 1979. He went on retirement in 2007 but then he was not tired as he continued working till last October 2012. Francis fell sick some months ago and died at the Bamenda Regional Hospital. Most of his colleagues describe him as a devoted and hard working man. He lives behind a wife and children.
