Union and Coton Sport are involved in the Champions League while Panthere is engaged in the Confederations Cup.

Return leg matches of the 16^th finals of the African Champions League and Confederations Cup will take place in stadia across the continent this weekend with all three Cameroonian clubs involved in continental competitions playing at home. In the African Champions League, Union will play host to FUS of Rabat-Morocco while Coton Sport will be locking horns with visiting AF Amadou Diallo of Cote D’Ivoire. Panthere, the lone surviving Cameroonian club in the Confederations Cup, will be slugging out with USM of Algiers.

In the away leg played a fortnight ago, the only Cameroon club which took a good option towards qualifying for the 8^th finals was Coton Sport who beat AF Amadou Diallo in their own backyard in Cote d’Ivoire. A nil or victory for Coton Sport during the return leg in Garoua on Sunday, will be enough to enable them sail through to the next stage of the competition.

It will however be a daunting task for Union who were humbled 0-3 by FUS of Morocco in the away leg in Rabat. The Douala-based club has failed severally to impress at the big stake since winning the 1981 defunct Cup Winners Cup. The Cameroonians squeezed past LISCR of Liberia 3-1 on aggregate at the previous round and now face a tough opposition from FUS Rabat, winners of the Confederation Cup two years ago, in their quest to reclaim their place amongst the elite of African football. Union has to score four goals without conceding any to qualify for the next round of the competition.

Though they bowed 0-1 to USM of Algiers in the away leg, Panthere stands a chance of turning the tables during the return leg match this weekend. Panthere will be out to overcome the one goal deficit conceded in Algeria and score the victory goal that will open the doors of the 8^th finals for them.
