The Chairman of the National Communication Council brings to the attention of public and private media that, under the provisions of Law N° 2012/001 of April 19, 2012 on the Electoral Code, as amended and supplemented by Law N° 2012/017 of December 21, 2012,

The proclamation of results of the senators’ election held April 14, 2013 falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Supreme Court ruling, after appropriate procedures, as the Constitutional Council.

Therefore, the President of the National Communication Council reminds all professionals of public and private media that, publication or broadcast of any trends or results of the above mentioned election outside figures released by the Supreme Court acting as the Constitutional Council, is a serious violation of law, and will, without any indulgence, be sanctioned as such.
