Youngster Caught Breaking Into Neighbour’s House

The adolescent is accused of other acts of petty theft in the family house.


It all started like a joke. First, coins started disappearing from the kitchen table. Later, it moved to bank notes that could not be traced from hand bags and purses. But no one could identify the source of the loss. Not until Arthur D., a 19-year-old Lowersixth student crossed to another level. After his elder brother, a military officer noticed the disappearance of his laptop, only then did the truth emerge. After falsely accusing the housemaid, who equally had access to every part of the house, Arthur confessed concerning the appareil’s whereabouts. He explained that he gave the computer to a friend in exchange for FCFA 4000, in order to gamble. Fortunately for his elder brother, he re-paid the sum and took back his computer. But this was just the beginning of a series of misdemeanours.

On Sunday May 5, he was caught red-handed passing through the ceiling into their neighbour’s parlour. Asked what he was doing, he said he was repairing a cable. CT gathered that two days before, his mother’s gold ring was missing. It was only due to snake beating for beating for his act that he further confessed having stolen his elder’s sister’s computer the day before. Though, she had not yet noticed. He revealed that he gave it in exchange for FCFA5000; in order to fulfil his at press time, efforts were being made to recover the object.
