Ghyslaine Tchouaga of Cameroon who was crowned Miss Africa USA 2011-2012 is currently in the country, to meet the needs of orphans, have a one-to-one talk with elderly people and also donate medical equipment to some health centres in Bafang in the West Region of the country. The beauty queen says this is in line with her goals as Miss Africa USA, that is, to organise medical missions in Cameroon to help with medical supplies and equipment for hospitals in rural and under developed areas.

Ghyslaine Tchouaga is in Cameroon to see the reality of orphan children and the state of health structures such as the Ad Lucem Medical Foundation in Bafang which used to be a referrer hospital in the area. While in Cameroon, she will be introducing her NGO; the Ngalamou Foundation which is aimed at improving medical care given to Cameroonians, amongst other things.

For a start, Miss Tchouaga says she is targeting the Bafang Ad Lucem hospital where her grandfather died 12 years ago after a coma. While explaining that the values of the hospital have fallen, Ghyslaine Tchouaga says her foundation, in partnership with the America non-profit organisation; MedShare America and Cameroon Medical Mission in the USA have shipped a consignment of medical equipment which will be handed to the hospital on Thursday May 30, 2013 in Bafang. Through discussion with personnel of the Ad- Lucem, she hopes to create a partnership between the hospital and other hospitals in the United States. The beauty queen also came along with some 400 shoes that she will distribute to orphans in Bafang. While paying a door-to-door visit to the elderly people in the area, Ghyslaine Tchouaga added that this is to enable her spend time with them and give them that warm company and comfort which most of them do not have at their old age.
