Zacharie Ngoumbe Takes Over In Transport

The Minister of Transport commissioned the new Inspector General on June 22.

It was an exceptional day at the Ministry of Transport on Friday June 22, 2013. The Minister of Transport, Robert Nkili, commissioned into function the new Inspector General of the Ministry of Transport, Zacharie Ngoumbe. Friends, relatives and well-wishers thronged the premises of the Ministry with dance groups and bouquets of flowers to congratulate the newly appointed.

Speaking during the occasion, the Minister of Transport, Robert Nkili, reminded the newly-appointed Inspector General of the tasks which await him such as ensuring the restoration of norms, intensifying the fight against corruption in the transport sector and a total revamping of the transport sector, among others.

Born on February 13, 1967 in Baigom, Foumbot in the West Region, Zacharie Ngoumbe attended primary and secondary school in Foumban. After obtaining a Baccalaureate certificate in Government High School Foumban in 1987, he later obtained a degree in mathematics and computer sciences in the University of Yaounde. He later registered at the Sub-regional school of Statistics and Applied Economics in the CEMAC zone (ISSEA) in Yaounde where he graduated as an engineer in statistics.

Zacharie Ngoumbe has occupied several posts of responsibility in the Cameroon administration. Zacharie Ngoumbe has contributed greatly in the putting in place of the transport sector strategy, reform of ports and air transport sectors and drafting of the national strategy for road safety, among others. He is married and father of three children.
