Moslems Drilled On 2013 Pilgrimage

A sensitisation workshop held in Foumban on June 26. Prospective and anxious pilgrims willing to travel to Mecca for the "2013 HADJ" have been educated on the travelling procedures

put in place by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation (MINATD).

A sensitisation team led by MINATD’s Technical Adviser No.1, Dr Boubakari Oumarou, was in Foumban on June 26, 2013 to sensitise prospective pilgrims for the "HADJ 2013" to Mecca and other holy sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. For Dr. Boubakari Oumarou, the sensitisation and educative workshop organised in Foumban, West Region, and other Regions in the country is to help create an inclusive atmosphere that will make the pilgrims have the opportunity to grow spiritually and reflect on other societal issues that can benefit them and the Cameroonian nation at large.

Dr. Boubakari told Moslems and anxious pilgrims who attended the information seminar that to have an atmosphere of conviviality and fraternity reign among the Cameroonian delegation to the 2013 pilgrimage to Mecca, it was decided in the Yaounde Hadj Commission’s preparatory meeting presided over by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, Mr. Rene Emmanuel Sadi, that prospective candidates will pay a total sum slightly above 1.119.995 FCFA, fixed as transport fare and other expenses such as lodging, feeding, medical care and other supplementary charges.

On the medical aspect, Dr. Adoum Ahmat told the prospective pilgrims that they must be vaccinated against yellow fever and meningitis, insisting that the pilgrims must carry out their vaccinations only in centres approved by the National Hadj Commission.

Presiding over the information workshop, the First Assistant SDO for Noun Division, Mr. Namba, called on the pilgrims to be of good morals that can help strengthen the political dimension of cooperation between Cameroon and the Arab world. At the end of the sensitisation seminar, Dr. Boubakari Oumarou handed over two letters of congratulations from Minister Rene Sadi to two well-behaved moslems, Kengo Mama Moustapha and Nkouandou Adamou. The seminar was attended by Prince Abdoula Njoya, Second Assistant to Sultan of the Bamoun.
