The Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth was at the Star Building on Tuesday, July 9.

Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang, yesterday, July 9, 2013 had discussions with the visiting Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Mmasekgoa  Masire-Mwamba . She used the occasion to brief the Prime Minister on the development and agenda of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit to take place this year 2013. The senior Commonwealth official is attending the ongoing International Colloquium on Civic Education and National Integration in Yaounde.

Talking to the press after the audience, the Commonwealth Deputy Secretary General said they also discussed the implementation of the Commonwealth Charter and several governance issues that affect member States of the Commonwealth. She said Cameroon’s membership in the organization is positive. The relationship, she further revealed was dynamic and positive enabling partnership in technical assistance and sharing of knowledge.

The Commonwealth will like to see Cameroon more engaged in the respect and implementation of the organisation’s values, the Deputy Secretary General said.
