KOICA and MINEFOP last week signed a FCFA 3.2 billion Record of Discussion to that effect.
The government of South Korea through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Cameroon has pledged to disburse 6.4 million US dollars (about 3.2 billion)
for the construction of an Institute of Vocational Trainers and Programme Development in Cameroon. This falls within the framework of the Project of the National Institute of Vocational Trainers and Programme Development whose Record of Discussion was signed in Yaounde on July 10, 2013 between KOICA and the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP).
According to information from KOICA office in Yaounde, the project consists in the construction of a National Training Institute for Vocational Trainers, provision of equipment and the dispatch of Korean experts for technical expertise and programme development. “This signing ceremony marks the beginning of enriching cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Cameroon in the area of vocational training,” the KOICA note states.
The Record of Discussion signing ceremony was attended among others by the Ambassador of Korea to Cameroon, Cho June Hyuck, the Resident Representative of KOICA, Ra Kap Chae, MINEFOP boss, Zacharie Perevet and the Ministers of External Relations, Basic Eductaion, Social Affairs as well as some senior officials of the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development and those of Secondary Eductaion.
