The FCFA 13.2 million donation will meet the needs of the Bomaka population near Buea.

The community of Bomaka-Buea now has an extension of potable water to its
Quarter Seven and 30 new water taps installed to serve over 7,000 people across the neighbourhood.

It is a donation worth CFA 13.115.400 from the Rotary humanitarians of Canada and USA through their local counterparts in Limbe-Cameroon. The aid, masterminded by one Leke Felix, has come to boost an obsolete water system and bail out a good part of Buea in dire need of potable water.

The Bomaka population jumped for joy recently during a feast organised to inaugurate and hand over their new water scheme to their Traditional Council. Special tap-stands were located at the 612-populated  Bomaka Government Secondary School, 318 pupils and staff of the Government Primary School, 86 pupils and staff of Government Nursery School and the  2,000 dwellers of Quarter Seven (host of the project). Equally, new taps were
installed in the other six Quarters of Bomaka.

To inaugurate the Bomaka water gift coordinated by the Rotary Club of Limbe, a representative of the Fako Divisional Delegation of Secondary Education, Mrs. Tabali Roseline, added her voice to that of authorities of Water Resources and Energy to praise and plead with the donors to continue to safe humanity. Daniel Ngalle, President of Rotary Club Limbe, praised their member Felix Leke for masterminding the project.

Mr. Leke took his turn and traced the source of the gift to the Canadian Hands-up clubs and USA Foundation of fellow Rotarians who answered their call for assistance as one of their vision plan of water and sanitation for mankind. He said the donation has also come to lessen any future outbreak of cholera like the recent one that made victims in Bomaka.
