CPDM Lebialem Builds Indivisible Front

Over 1000 supporters gathered at a grand rally in Menji on September 16, 2013.

Supporters of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) in Lebialem Division, South West Region, have agreed to close ranks, and form a common front aimed to guarantee victory for the party at the September 30 council and legislative polls. The consensus was reached on September 16, 2013 during a rally which grouped over 1000 supporters and sympathizers at the Menji Municipal stadium.

The divisional campaign team leader, His Majesty Senator Fon Fontem Njifua, who is also Questor at the Senate and Member of the CPDM Central Committee, said the CPDM remains the unique entity that would provide dreamed roads, portable water, electricity and other scarce needs of the local population.

He further announced that feasibility studies are completed on the badly-needed Dschang-Fontem-Bakebe inter-regional road, pending official approval and subsequent funding from the Turkish and Chinese governments. “The road shall wipe the incessant tears of Lebialem people, soonest”, the CPDM party boss remarked.

Various speakers, including incumbent Hon. Bernard Foju, who runs for the third mandate, added that only the CPDM ballot would facilitate work on the 90 kilometers Dschang-Fontem-Bakebe lane which requires a colossal sum of FCFA 96 billon. The parliamentarian also noted that the opposing People’s Action Party (PAP), which competes for the lone parliamentary seat and two councils out of three in Lebialem Division, “is a staggering baby without a direction”, urging the crowd to “shun lifeless shadows.”

The rally which assembled supporters from Alou, Wabane and Fontem sub divisions ended with a long match led by Senator Fon Fontem Njifua across the streets of Menji and solemn libation poured upon the municipal and legislative candidates by traditional rulers.
