Major Shift Expected In North West After Polls

Serenity reigns in the region after the twin elections as the population awaits the results.

It is business as usual in the North West region, after the crucial September 30, Council and legislative elections. Inhabitants are back in their respective work places, business houses and farms while Council and Divisional supervisory commissions assemble, declare and forward elections results.

Some neighbourhoods of the region feature party militants jumping for joy as Council supervisory Commissions proclaim results, but the wait will have to be longer for legislative elections whose results will only be proclaimed after the National Counting Commission in Yaounde. Meanwhile; at press time; echoes from the 34 councils of the region indicate a major shift on the political map of the North West. It is evident that the opposition SDF party and the ruling CPDM have made major gains and losses.

Away from that, Elections Cameroon is busy assembling reports and updating hierarchy with details on how the region fared during the elections. The Regional Delegate of ELECAM,, Ngah Gaspard  told Cameroon Tribune that they are equally busy assembling and carrying electoral materials from polling stations  back to their offices.
