CPDM Emerges Winner In Babadjou Council

Chanting supporters stormed the residence of the Section President to fete their victory.

It was total anxiety and excitement among the militants of the CPDM in Babajou Subdivision in the Bamboutos Division of West Region on Wednesday, October 2, 2013.

Hundreds of chanting militants stormed the residence of the President of the CPDM Subdivisional Campaign team for Babadjou, Hon. Wa Mathurin, few minutes after the commission for Babajou Council area announced the results of the 30 September, 2013 municipal election for that council area, where the CPDM received a significant landslide victory scoring 57.8 per cent against its contesting rival SDF that scored 42.8 per cent.

Outgoing mayor for Babadjou, Delego Jacques was very happy because the results from the polls show a substantial support for the CPDM and its chairman Paul Biya. He said 57.8 against 42.8 margin for the SDF in the Babadjou council indicated that two major parties were in the race, but for democracy, voters indicated support for the best, the CPDM.

Receiving the hundred of chanting supporters, Hon.Wa Mathurin, who is head of the CPDM parliamentary list in Bamboutos Constituency, joined the supporters in singing and dancing. He extended his thanks to the militants for their concern for the CPDM party and the National Chairman, Paul Biya.

He promised that there will be overall improvement in development in the council area, adding that the victory has brought the subdivision nearer the corridors of power.  “Know that our victory is rear, because the biometric system has cleared away all possibilities of corruption, leaving the opportunity for hard working political parties like the CPDM,” Wa noted.
